Many members donate considerable time and effort in organising events (or researching and writing material) for the home education community. Some also donate personal costs in running their events. Most of the people who benefit by their organising will not be aware of the costs until they organise an activity themselves. Until then, on their behalf –
Liability insurance cover for one off events is free for all HBLN/HEWA members. To access this insurance, the Event Organiser must be a current HBLN/HEWA member. Non members who attend events which are covered by HBLN/HEWA insurance will pay an insurance fee for each event of $3/participant or 20% of the excursion fee whichever is the greater.
For a one off event to be covered by HBLN/HEWA insurance an event application form must be completed and sent to the HEWA Coordinator no later than 4 week prior to the date of the event.
