web_update We have some new additions to the  HBLN web site,  welcome to our  new home based mum   "Newbie on the Block" who has put her hand up to blog her way through her first year.  To join her on the journey simply click on the Blogs Tab on the home page and choose  her from the list, and if you feel inclined leave a note for her in the comments field.  Please note to comment on blog entries you need to be a registered HBLN member.

We have also introduced a section for those who would like to become more involved in the organising of events and the life of HBLN, but don’t have the time for an ongoing commitment.  So if you're one of those who said at the conference "I want to help  and I am  happy to do  a one off situation" here's how you view what’s coming up:

  • Click on the Events Tab on the home page,
  • Place your mouse over current events,
  • Click on the Volunteers Positions pop up box on  the right

For those wanting to know more about HBLN's insurance for events:

  • Log in to the web site
  • Go to the  Events tab
  • Place your mouse over current events
  • Click on Insurance Information in the right hand side drop down box

In the upcoming months we will be introducing on line instructional movies and more for those just starting out.

We  came, we saw, we listened ,we laughed, we talked, we shopped,  we ate Fredo Frogs and turned in surveys, and judging from what you said, the committee of 2010 appear to have pulled it offLaughing

"Great to recharge my batteries in  such an accepting atmosphere"
"Teens Q & A brilliant and very insightful"
"Loved the variety  of workshops and speakers provided it was exceptional, well done can't wait for the next one"
Taking time out to reflect on what I do was time well spent, thank you ladies"
" My confidence has been boosted by sharing with like minded people"
"The true life stories of other home school families, was a real blessing, thank you"

"Loved the Childrens craft room, and the young people in there  well done"
"Loved hearing the dads speak"

Thank you also again to all the voluntee.  We could not have done it without:
Kendal, Elsa, Judy, Charlie, Tom, and especially our younger team members Beth,  Sarah, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Rafe, Laird, Charlotte and GeraldineLaughing

Now for a few last house keeping notes.  For those who  signed up for Todd Hutchison and missed out, he has sent his profound apologies. One of his senior management team was in a severe car accident and he was with them  at the hospital. Todd has however kindly offered to run a presentation especially for you  as soon as we can organise it so watch this space for more info on when that will be.

If you send our events coordinator an email and don't get a reply  it's because her family have taken her computer and phone away and locked them in an unknown location for the next two weeks, but they have promised to let her have them back at the end of the two weeks if she plays lots of games with them.

Now for the info you really want for those who were not present  for the trade fair raffle draw.  The winning numbers are:

Blue 8, Blue 13, Blue 16, Blue 18, Blue 32, Blue 25, Blue 51, Orange 05, Orange 06, Orange 07,
Orange 10, Orange 12, Orange 13,Orange 18, Orange 19, Orange 28, Orange 50

If one of these is yours send an email to the president to make arrangements to pick them up.  Please give her two weeks to respond though.  Any prizes not collected by the end of July will be used as prizes in the upcoming sports carnival.

Lastly to all the speakers and delegates who attended, it was good to see  all our hard work benefit so many.  Thanks for coming and hope to see you again next time.
